Seventy-two years after two torpedoes fired from a Japanese submarine sunk cruiser USS Indianapolis (CA-35), the ship’s wreckage was found resting on the seafloor on Saturday - more than 18,000 feet below the Pacific Ocean’s surface. Source 1u.

Indianapolis USS Cruiser II War World

Yes finding this ship can give many families some more closure as to the fate of their loved ones that went down with the ship. I am glad that they did find this ship. It was one of many that were sunk by the Japanese.

Yeah, I read about this many years ago. The ship was on a secret mission to deliver the A Bomb and the navy didn't even know it was missing for days. That means the search started very late. That as many survived as did is a miracle.
