Glarion,

It is a shame what happened and for whatever reason it happened. Whether this guy a right nut, a left win nut, an ISIS inspired nut, or simply a plain old run of the mill nut makes no difference. The fact is one person killed nearly 60 fellow humans and wounded or caused the injury of over 500 others. There is a special place in hell for someone like him.

Yeah until we know more many people are jumping to a lot of needless conclusions. I have heard [someone] say he was killing [Trump supporters] because [our] president is to blame for everything. It is statements like this that will help tear this nation apart when we should be coming together more.

Las Vegas gunman had more than 30 firearms between his hotel room and Mesquite, Nev., home; two modified to fire full auto, officials say. At least 16 weapons, many of them rifles, were found inside Stephen Paddock's room at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, police said Monday. Two were modified to make them fully automatic, two U.S. Officials told the Associated Press. Authorities also searched Paddock's home and found even more weapons - 18 firearms, explosives, and unidentified electronic devices, as well as thousands of rounds of ammunition. Ref. USAToday.

Yeah, so I have a lot of weapons too but none of mine are (Illegally) modified to fire full auto. This is a guy who was planning something and then perpetrated this horrific crime. ISIS is still claiming he was one of the 'soldiers' and even shared his name on one of their propaganda sites.

How is it that the family says he is normal and even wealthy and yet did not know he was doing this. He didn't have military training so how did he know to adjust the guns and stuff?

Wizard,

It doesn't require military trying to learn how to turn a semi auto into a full auto. Heck, in truth most people in the military never learn how to do that, only very specialized jobs. This is the power of the internet I think or perhaps he took gunsmithing classes. Also, family loses track of each other as they spread out across the country. The occasional call isn't enough to read into a person's mind, even if that person is a brother.

Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock recently transferred about $100,000 to the Philippines. The federal law enforcement official who is not authorized to comment publicly said the purpose of the transaction was not immediately clear and it was not certain whether it would lead to a motive for the assault. The family of Paddock's girlfriend, Marilou Danley, is from the Philippines. Ref. USAToday.

ATF: 12 guns in Las Vegas gunman's room had 'bump fire' stocks that use recoil to mimic automatic fire. Forty-seven firearms were recovered at Stephen Paddock's hotel room and two Nevada homes, police said. The gunfire lasted for nine to 11 minutes Sunday night, police added, and the gunman used three cameras in his room and hallway as a lookout. Authorities also clarified that a total of 59 people died in the incident, including the gunman. Ref. USAToday.
