Leanna the Charmer

My name is Leanna - it is, I am told, what my father wished me to be called. A proper noble-sounding name, which happens to be one of the few things left from our supposedly once noble lineage, along with marginally better education and hereditary good looks.

The latter happen to be one of my main asset nowadays. 5'8 tall and downright indecently well-endowed for my otherwise slim frame, I boast proportionate, aristocratic facial features, veritable waterfall of black hair and silky skin of a girl of pedigree, if a lot more tanned than those tend to be. Frankly, it's gotten me in trouble more than once, but I have benefitted at least just as often.

In any case, in the wake of my beloved mother's passing, I am moving to the city. Having no wish to seek employment among the commoners, my options are either to attach myself to a greater power, taking position of a handmaiden, acolyte, apprentice or any other of similar rank, with all the great and lasting obligations that come with it, or to gamble with what little I have in a risky bid for - relative - independence.

I am, to put it mildly, understandably uncertain about trying the trade of a courtesan, but also bizarrely excited. In any case, should I succeed, I will obtain both money and, even more importantly, connections without unduly chaining myself down. With those, things like acquiring arcane training or claiming a minor title should be entirely within my reach.

Besides, it's probably naive of me, but I rather like the concept of making "friends" and even friends far and wide. I am far from happy with the current state of the realm, but the notion of clawing my way to the top only to shoulder the ultimate responsibility is deeply unsettling. It would be far more preferable to surround myself on every level with people genuinely interested in hearing my opinion and accommodating me instead - and I will surely return the sentiment as well, since human relationships are give and take, after all.

With that said, it is time for me to be off. Even though I am not pressed for time at this point, it would nonetheless be imprudent to tarry.
