Haiti Adoption Laws
Before the Earthquake hit Haiti, many US citizens had all the papers necessary to adopt Haiti children but the government of Haiti is now trying to delay the adoptions as they are requesting for more documentations due to the fact that during a crisis of this magnitude, pedophiles and child traffickers are just waiting to "attack" in a country where kids are reported being raped.
So what this religious group of parents from the US does in Haiti? They try to take their Haiti adoptive kids in a bus in the middle of the night (kids from 2 months to 12 years old) and cross the border to the Dominican Republic. Of course, they did not have papers and as harsh as I may sound for some of you, this is one of the examples why I think sometimes some US citizens think that third world countries just do not have laws that need to be respected or that nobody will notice. Well, the reality is different.

Silsby, 40, of Boise, Idaho, was asked if she didn't consider it naive to cross the border without adoption papers at a time when Haitians are so concerned about child trafficking. "By no means are we any part of that. That's exactly what we are trying to combat," she said.

So you combat child trafficking by trying to take the kids illegally from the country? You know, I know they have the best intentions but even with the best intentions sometimes you mess up big time and this is the case.
