Deimos the Sorcerer

My name is Deimos, I am a 16 year old young man with white skin, a body that has recently grown some muscle as well as black hair combined with dark blue eyes.My height is standard for my age and while I am not prince charming I believe I am attractive above average. I was raised by my mother and her social circle having never met my father since he died as a soldier fighting for our town.He was the one that gave me my name, I think it means Dread. At first I wondered what possessed my father to give me such a name but my mother explained to me that my father had big hopes for me.He believed that one day I would become a warrior who would vanquish our enemies and unite the lands under one rule, thus I was supposed to be the dread of our enemies. Dreams and ambitions seemed to be in abundance in my home.

My mother also believed I was meant to become some sort of great king. She said that I possessed certain gifts that will lead me to achieve great things provided I was a good boy listening to the advice of the gurus and using my gifts in the service of Good.So if I am a white dove pretending to be more moral than anyone I will ever meet I will somehow ascend to power and actually hold on to it when the most cunning, the most capable, the most ambitious and the wisest of us have not.If I stray from the narrow path I will die and be given the chance to try again provided I am a good boy. What else?I guess I will meet a young witch, she will be made of pure white magic and she will be my moral compass eventually turning into my love interest.Together we will overcome all kinds of evil and rule the kingdom in peace. How typical, how boring but most importantly how unrealistic, I wonder where people see these things happening… except for in fiction… oh well. As for what I believe.I believe that destiny is for the naive and the weak, those that lack the power to change the course of their lives and so resort to justifications.

My parents were content with me being a king but what of their destinies, they both died young, what if the stars said I was meant to clean toilets? One day I am going to become great not because the stars said so but because I said so There is no destiny, only ambitions and the power to turn them into reality. Thankfully power I do not luck.Upon birth I was given the gift of magic which I have studied ever since I learned how to read and write, I am quite talented and I wish to become the most powerful sorcerer.I also train in weapons honoring my father and the able body he gave me, most men in this town are ether scholarly or brutes but I am both, by training both my mind and body I will become the most powerful person in the known world and everyone will defer to me.My parents meed not worry, I know what really needs to be done in order to acquire and hold on to power.

Advisor Description

I remember it as if it were yesterday, I still can not believe it has been ten years since that time, Alister had been sent as a diplomat to a foreign kingdom to ensure peace, on the way back he and his guards decided to travel through the forest in order to save time.It turned out they got lost, they spent a day and a night in the woods trying to find their way back while fending off wild animals however the Gods where on their side, the next morning tired as they were they came across our house. My mother welcomed them with open arms and gave the food and a place to stay for a while.Alister took an immediate liking to me something that my mother approved of greatly, she believed that being connected to an aspiring politician who would one day end up as an important government official would be good for my future prospects, after all I was supposed to become king, the stars said so! Alister kept in touch, he was a cultured and intelligent, he approved of my physical training but indicated me into the wonders of scholarly work, he even approved of my magick giving my my very first book on the subject. Those where not the only things Alister taught me though, He also taught me the art of politics, he taught me how to be charismatic, how to see through people and their desires, he showed me the true nature of power, how to engage in power plays and power politics, how to take advantage of the already existing power structures and how to create mine.I learnt the art of influencing others, of pushing their buttons and manipulating them, I learnt how the world really works, how kingdoms are created and maintained, what sort of powers make the world spin ahd it had nothing to do with the love and light stuff my mother and the gurus would rant about.Alister did all this because he supposedly sensed I was special, that I had a special destiny to fulfill(It must be something they drink) and he hoped that by helping me he could partake of the greatness. One day however Alister suddenly ceased all contact, my mother told me that he was too busy now he could no longer visit, I tried tracking him down in the city but I found out he moved up the rank, he was among nobles and merchants now and a lowlife like me could not contact him, my mother's explanation made sense until I caught her talking with a guru outside our home telling him the evil force had been removed, I suppose they caught on to my special education.

Ten years later while I was working out and about I got a glimpse of someone watching me, I had been feeling eyes on me ever since I started work but I was not sure, this time however it was crystal clear, I pretended not to notice until I would get close but the spy caught on and fled, I ran after him and caught him, it turns out he as a farmer, when I interrogated him he told me he was sent by Alister to check on me.I ordered the farmer to arrange a meeting with Alister for the next day in the tavern at noon and so it happened.Alister had changed for the better, he was obviously wealthier, you could not tell him apart from the nobles, he also exhibited an aura of power and confidence. He greeted me quite warmly and apologized for the unease the farmer caused me, he confirmed what I believed about my mother expelling him from my life and told me he kept tabs on me all those years. He was glad I learnt his lessons and said it was time for me to achieve my destiny. .Alister promised to help me which makes me feel relief about the future however being a politician and all the first thing he taught me was not to completely trust your friends so I supposed I should keep this in mind.

Reflections on your mother

My mother's name was Izabela, she started working as a book keeper when she was my age but stopped working five years later when she met my father Marvin. He was a traditional man and so did not want his wife working. My mother loved him dearly and complied. She was a spiritual person who would constantly visit the gurus for guidance. When I was born she dedicated me to the Gods hoping I would take the path of a guru.My mother just like my father believed I was meant to do great things but as opposed to him she did not believe I would achieve it through the sword but through enlightement and by pleadging loyalty to the Gods.
