Amaraine the Blessed

I, Amaraine, am known as the blessed because all who have life are blessed to be among the living, and I hold my own life to be a precious gift.

Thin and pale of skin, some might mistake my leanness for ill-health. I'm a few inches taller than most women, and my almost white hair might lead some to think I am older than my 16 years of age.

I have an interest in magic, and in the philosophical aspects of religion. When doing a physical task, I attempt to focus on the task at hand, rather than let my mind wander. I am usually civil, if occasionally cold. My temper, rarely scene, is more ice than fire.

My chosen path is one that values flexibility over strength, and pragmatism over dogma. I am not the same as I was when I was a child, and I expect the world to change me even as I strive to change the world. I shall relish each moment of it.

Advisor Description

I met Charles when I was young. He's older than me, and was studying to become a priest. He taught me a few things about the world, and how to view myself in it. I think he means me well -- but I have caught him staring at my body a few times, too, so I know better than to think he has a pure heart.

I expect I will learn from Charles, but move on from him some day. It will make me sad, but Charles himself has taught me that change is part of life, and that nothing stays for long, and eventually all will die. It seems a morbid philosophy, but by accepting it I have known some peace.

Charles wants me to succeed, and grow. But I suspect he wants me to fall in love with him, too… and that will never happen.

Reflections on my mother:

She was a gentle woman, who knew something of the healing arts. Quiet, she preferred her own company to that of others, and I always hesitated before seeking her assistance as a result, but it was always freely given if there was a true need. "Stop bothering me with things you can do yourself," she would tell me, if she thought I was capable. She was rarely wrong.

I find the bodies of both men and women to be pleasurable to the eye, but for some reason I am particularly taken by women who are the opposite of myself -- Once I saw a well-fed woman, with generous curves, a dark complexion, and hair like midnight. I was smitten by her beauty, and the fact that she made little attempts to hide what nature had given her, dressed as she was in a corset that pushed her assets into view, and a skirt that turned diaphanous at mid-thigh. It was the first woman I was attracted to -- always it was men before that. I wondered what it would be like to hold her, and have her body press up against mine -- and ached to taste her dark painted lips. Surely she would not be as interested in a pale fair maid like me!.

No one shall lay low Amaraine the Blessed. I, Amaraine, have died but am alive again! I awoke again for the 1st time. I am in awe by it. I felt like it was a bedtime story. I shall aim for better.
