Domain Prices Going Up!

I just got a newsletter from a Domain Registrar that I am fading out from: Namecheap. They wrote:

ICANN, the organization that oversees domain names, has proposed removing price caps on all .org, .info, and .biz top level domains. This change could significantly increase the wholesale price that Namecheap pays for domains, and would force us to pass along those increases to you.

What do you think about this latest move? Domains are so expensive to maintain but they seem to be targeting those desperate to keep names that they have acquired that weren't available as .COM.

Up Prices Domain

At the end of the day there is pure profit coming at their end and eventually people will have to empty their pockets in order to obtain the domains they want. I don't think some people would take the time to create and own their own domain and become a registrar themselves.
