Loquatius the Mystic

I am Loquatius. My name was chosen for me by my Father before he went off to battle leaving his wife, my Mother, in the care of a midwife. My name literally means "the wordy one or one skilled in using words to their utmost". My Father envisioned me, even in my Mother's womb, as a leader of many. The fact that I'm a Gnome with all of a human child's height would suggest that my words are what's to gain the respect of others. I also hope to provide something of value to the community for which I will work and build a Mystic community that would reap the full potential of our natural surroundings to create an idyllic time that will forever be marked in the History books as The Rebirth.

Advisor Description

The High Priest, Desautelle the Dark, is a dark-skinned human that I came to know as Witchdoktor. Our meeting when I was only twleve years of age was by sheer happenstance. My Mother swore it was the fate of the stars but was nonetheless wary of this strange man. I crossed Desautelle's path whilst hunting with some older teens in my clan in the hills of the North one moon cycle that year. I had fallen down into a fox coven and Witchdoktor entered into the coven looking like a shadowy panther. The foxes scattered and fled and he took my hand and tended to my wounds. This was also the first time I got to see a dark-skinned human up close. Wearing loose garbs and looking more like a worldly traveler than a High Priest, Witchdoktor muttered some words that I couldn't understand and then spit on my wounds and put his warm hands over them. I could feel the scratches and bites healing steadily. When he took his hands away my wounds were healed! I was so thankful that I hugged him and told him I had to get back. He asked where I hailed from and took my hand. The world seemed to swim in front of me as I was pulled in to the world of Shadow with him and things moved and turned quickly. In what was mere seconds, I was back home! The side with the large oak tree. So excited, I ran inside and called out to my Mom. She came around and swept me up and gave me a huge kiss. I grabbed her hand and pulled her outside with me. "This man saved me from foxes!", I said to her. "Who?" she said looking around at the empty space. "Witchdoktor?" I tentatively called out. I would not see him again for another year but I never forgot him. I even returned to the fox coven twice to see if he would return. Alas, no.

House of Sorrows

I take a deep breath and consider my words carefully. The father looks at me with tired eyes. The eyes of a man that has witnessed his own horror - to have children with "special needs". First, I move my chair closer to the father then hop back on the seat and take his hand. "Sir", I said, "I must first commend you for the job you've done thus far with your children. They have a sense of belonging, a sense of kinship and they've developed their own unique albeit rambunctious mode of communicating with one another. This Autismark you speak of sounds like a sinister being that may have exacerbated their condition which then led to such behavior". "I see", said the father looking longingly at his two sons jumping up and down on the thatched wheatgrass throw rug in front of the fireplace. "You must remain firm and diligent with both your love and your teachings. It's obvious that they respond well to those." "Thanks", he mumbled under his breath. I could tell he was choking back his emotion as would the human male when he is painfully aware of his pride being tarnished. "I'm humbled by the fact that you chose to confide in me this personal situation of yours, my good man. Rest assured, you have my utmost discretion in regards to your family. I will do some research into herbal holistic healing teas. I'm sure that I will find the right mixture that would give all of you a bit of peace." The father grabbed my hand firmly and leaned in close,"I would be so appreciative", he said in a low hush,"but, I have nothing for payment for such a service." I smiled back at him, "None needed. My payment is you and your children having a good night's rest." With that, I took my leave to do exactly as I had told him - research.

Mystic Loquatius

Message to Advisor

Esteemed friend, this day brought about several experiences. I met with a man who's children were touched by the Autismark and I offered my assistance in researching an herbal remedy in the form of a tea. I also spoke with a Lady of the Mystic Counsel. She asked my help in collecting some precious flowers that are along the Patrol route at the edge of the Dark Forest. I shall join the Patrol so that I may have aid in case needed. Finally, this evening, I took to some training for a bit and learned some basic skills that I think you would be most impressed with. I trust these words will find you well and in good spirits.

- Loquatius -.

Reflections On Your Mother

My Mother still permeates my every waking moment. Even some dreams where I find her to be the calm within the storm. If I close my eyes, I could swear that she is whispering in my ear what she said to me even from young,"You'll be special, meh boy. Your Papa says so and he's strong and wise." You can't refer to Gnomes as "big" so that descriptor is left out. Her soulful eyes used to gaze out the window many evenings, looking for Papa to come home. I watched as her eyes and her body grew more tired of the wait but she always had a smile and a warm hug for me. I told her that one day I would make her proud like Papa did. She said, "I know". She eventually took to weaving to pass her time in her chair by the fireplace. She seemed naturally adept at transforming mere swatches of cloth into functional items such as blouses and trousers. I even helped her stitch together some hems on trousers to hide the fray of the cloth. This is where I get my inspiration to continue weaving as a viable source of income. It is her belief in me that continues to be my inspiration.

Loquatius Mystic Text RPG MMORPG & Play Post

The father of the boys afflicted by the Autismark approached the casket. he couldn't believe that God in Heaven would allow this travesty. A boy beaten down senselessly in his youth by someone touched by darkness. He mumbled to himself, "My kids remember you, lad." A soft voice from behind the father spoke,"Did ye know this poor waif?" The man turned his head slightly to see an old woman, a wailer, looking at him through milky eyes. He tuned his gaze back to the coffin. "Yes, I did. For a very brief time."
"Tell me. Tell Zoraya the story." The crone began to softly hum with her eyes closed. The father thought for a moment and turned around to face a small handful of Townsfolk. These were the folks whom Loquatius helped whilst he was here learning. "This young man," he said to the few standing there,"got to know my children. They, in turn, got to know him. He wanted to help as best he could. I appreciated him just being there to give my children some focus. My heart is saddened for my children for I can't explain to them "why" Loquatius won't be coming to see them again." The crone began humming a little louder and keening every so often. Her eyes were still closed as if she were entranced by an unseen force. The man continued to speak, "Loquatius's spirit now join his parents up in Heaven. May the good Lord grant him a peaceful rest." The man turns back to the coffin and rests his hand on the smooth polished top, closes his eyes and says a quick prayer. With a simple soft pat on the coffin, the father turns and walks away. The crone continues to wail and keen softly. The Town Mystic comes over and silently drapes a purple sash over the coffin and kisses it gently. "For your humble service to the Counsel of Mystics." With that, the Mystic turns and walks away. The rest of the people follow leaving Zoraya to finish up this quiet impromptu funeral for this poor boy.
