Thereof Lack Water WASA

Personally, everyone should be fired at WASA starting with the CEO, Mr Errol Grimes. But seriously, many citizens of this country have always had an axe to grind with WASA. They make many promises that go unfulfilled, they send bills out on a timely basis to people who don't receive any water and let's not forget the wastage. There are so many leaks all over Trinidad that it just isn't funny anymore. I think it was last year or a few years ago, WASA admitted that the resevoir was very low and they were experiencing a severe drought. As usual, WASA is always "surprised" at the level of water in the resevoir! They even admitted that most of the water was wasting away in leaks that were never repaired! I laughed when I heard this and laughed even more when WASA had this new jingle on television called "we fixing it!" Funny, I always thought that was part of their job to fix leaks, replace old pipe lines and ensure that people got a clean and regular supply of water. But only in Trinidad!

I hope someday, a government may seriously consider privatizing WASA and also, T & TEC even if consumers have to pay more, at least they would be getting their monies worth!

Thereof Lack Water WASA

A friend of mine who works in WASA told me that there are a lot of changes going on in WASA. First of all, Errol Grimes, CEO of WASA was fired and replaced by an acting CEO who happens to be a foreigner; many senior management were recently sent home and on top of all of this, WASA is currently being audited. So folks, if you have a leak, you may call 800-LEAK but don't expect WASA to respond in a timely manner. Thank God rainy season has started!

WASA - Water or Lack Thereof

Water is being rationed all around now especially in Central and South. Do you feel that WASA has enough infrastructure in place to take care of the water needs of the country? Is it just mismanagement that causes these dry spells or does it boil down to a lack of rainfall or consumers using water in a haphazard manner?
