Vanity of the upper echelon is always the same. I think they are not alone in this act the USA and CANADA are no better. Just the people are in general are better off. The wasted funds of the space race could be used there to help those who are in need and place better social supports.

Indian probe touches down on Moon

India's first unmanned lunar spacecraft, Chandrayaan 1, places a probe on the surface of the Moon.

Well if the probe works the way they want it to then I would say that this mission was a success for them. I hope they continue with their space program. Maybe they can place a few people on the moon to get us to think of building a base there.
