Is the University of the West Indies Safe?

With the recent kidnapping of a UWI student and past crimes accounted for many students are asking: Is the University of the West Indies Safe? What are your thoughts?

It does not seem so given a TV 6 report tonight about a rape that occurred last night. Also, it seems that the students are afraid to tell the police which gives more power to the criminals.
