All the time and treasure we spent there and it's looking as grim as ever. I have been there so many times and so long. I hope it gets better but I fear it won't. The people there need to want it to improve and most either don't, or just don't care. I think they'll fall back into their old ways and that'll be too bad for women and minority tribes in that country.
This is why we are failing over there. This is the same reason that Russia failed for over 20 years over there. They do not want things to change that is proven over and over. I do not understand why we are there we should not be trying to change people who do not want to be changed. It is a waste of our resources and our soldiers young lives.
Regretfully, I agree with you. I have friends over there. Good people that are caught in a bad situation. But the vast majority of the people there don't want change, or in the case of the women are powerless to effect change. We should have gone there with one intent, to find the people responsible for 911 and kill them all and then left. I truly hate to say that because of how much of my life is wrapped up in that country.
