Both Houses of Congress
Why are there two Houses of Congress and not just one?
Because the framers of the Constitution wanted the stated to be represented as well as well as the people. The House is the direct voice of the people. Being chosen by the masses. The Senate was chosen by the state legislators, thereby putting the states on an equal footing with the Federal Government.
For some reason I do not see it working that way though, states being on equal footing with feds. Recently this constant saying of a bi-partisan role is what rules the language of the White House.

When this great nation was first formed the founding fathers had a vision of a government that was not too powerful. They put in the two houses so that all people could have a voice in decisions their elected officials made.
Our founding fathers also warned us that if the government grew too big then this republic would be in jeopardy.
