Mexico gunfight kills 43 as government hits gang hard:

My gosh! Stoned to death? For a minute I thought it had an Islamic connection but seems to be drug related.

Montejano's spokesman, Jonathan Arredondo, said initially that the victims were hacked to death with a machete, but the attorney general said they were killed with stones. Homicides spike in Tijuana in 2016

Tijuana had 871 homicides last year making it the second-most violent city in Mexico, according to a University of San Diego report. The director of USD’s Justice in Mexico program said the increase can largely be attributed to violence among drug cartels. Ref. Source 1c.
