    If You Witnessed A Murder

If you witnessed a murder and only you could put the killer behind bars, would you do it knowing that the killer would kill your own family? Would you stay silent?

Silent? no, not at all. I will speak to the authorities about it even if my own life and family is in danger, not only because it is the right thing to do, but because of the victims and the future victims this guy can kill if he's not behind bars.
I know that maybe not easy, knowing your own family is a target but at the same time you need to think that more people can be killed. I will talk to the authorities and ask for police protection too. There are so many ways nowdays where a witness can report a crime without being identified (like witness protection program).

I would feel it to be my civic duty to call the authorities to report it.  Even knowing that my family could be in harms way if I reported it.  The witness protection program would help to protect me and my family.  Just as long as it wasn't one of those mafia/mobster persons that did the killing.  They have ways of finding people if they have to.  But it would take some years casing through the WPP to find me and my family and by then, I probably would have moved my family somewhere that the protection program couldn't find me either.  Anybody live somewhere desolate, and deserted?  Where there is nothing but trees as far as the eye can see.  Looking for ideas of places to hide now, before I make the call.  ;)

That's a really tough question. It's one of those situations where I can say what I would hope I would do, but when it came down to the actual experience, there's no telling what I would do. I would hope that I could put aside my own family for the sake of others, but I don't know if I would be able to. If there was no type of protection to be offered, it would be something I would definately have to discuss with my family. A decision like that would not only effect me, but them as well. If witness protection was an option, then I would have no qualms with being a witness.
