Albrecht uses his telepathy to let Bastion know that he agrees, but with his new form, he is unlikely to be nearly as sneaky up top, so he stays in the valley with Krama and the wagon.
Out of Character: : Do you want Survival rolls to track a scent or just use our spot/listen checks to follow it?
Avan insists he heals the ranger and doesn't take no for an answer. "You can't possibly know when you will be injured next. Might save your life."
Avan agrees that the tracks are the best way forward, and continues with the group. He tries to relay what information he can gather regarding whose tracks and how old they are as well as how many of them are out there.
Avan is curious and had been itching to try flying with his new ability. He Wild Shapes into an Eagle, flying up to the ranger and landing beside him. With his natural perceptiveness amplified by his eagle eyes, he surveys the scene. If he sees no direct danger, he flies over the route ahead of the party to see it in more detail.
Avan flies back to the group and nods his head in the direction of travel, suggesting them to move.
He hopes that being disguised as an eagle is good enough protection as he flies ahead towards the smoke.
Albrecht uses his telepathy to communicate with Avan and then telepathically communicates the information to Bastion as well, so that everyone is aware what is going on. He relies on Bastion to fill in the scout and driver as needed.
Out of Character: : Ghostwise halflings can communicate with one person telepathically at a time, so long as we share a language. Just because you are wild shaped does not mean you lose the language, just the ability to form the sounds to voice it. But if the Dungeon Master thinks this is too much of an abuse, I can stop.
Bastion passes on the information, and the group starts rolling out. While the link is open, he'll ask Albrecht, "What can Avan discern of the layout? Is there an approach more desirable than others?"
