Why didn't you think the Taliban guys weren't realistic? I thought the whole movie was well made. Its an emotional family drama. I can see a lot of families with military members serving having to go through these things. I haven't but it help me imagine what it might be like. Jake Gyllenhaal actually did a better job than Tobey Maguire. I felt like Tobey Maguire was still acting in his Spiderman role almost exactly I was just waiting for him to break out the costume and make his girls happy. The ending leaves you with a lot of food for thought. I'd like to think he recovered and everyone lived happily ever after. If someone has an alternative ending let me know.
There are two possible endings. First he gets rehabilitated, is forgiven for what he did becaus he was not thinking right as a captive or he ends up going to jail and Tommy takes over his family. I liked the movie. I was expecting a little bit more I think.
