Eating Raw

I have read many books that say frying, baking and boiling often destroy the nutritional aspects of the food we eat, but does that mean we should get rid of our stove?

FOOD: RAW, RAW, RAW!

He doesn't cook anymore, if by "Cook" you mean something involving a stove. He gave away his stove last October. These days, Derek Gessel is "100 percent raw," as they say in raw foodist circles.

I could eat all my vegetables raw, but I don't eat much meat.  The meat I do eat, I couldn't eat it raw.  It would have to be cooked to some form of not being raw.

Raw Eating

I can't imagine this diet.  Whenever I have gone on a diet to lose weight and eaten a lot of fresh raw vegetables, I spend way more time in the bathroom.  I wonder if maybe you eventually adjust to this and that side effect goes away.

I know we are supposed to only eat meat sparingly, but I still believe we are supposed to view meat as a source of food.  I probably eat more of it than I should, but I can't see myself giving it up easily.

Actually, it is not a side effect but the natural order of things. For every meal you eat you should have one bowel movement. So if you eat three meals a day you should have three bowel movements a day. If you have only two then one is trapped somewhere in your system causing trouble, disease, etc.

That's because vegetables need very little digestion...smile.gif but don't stop because of this, even though you may seem something is wrong with you for being so much in the bathroom, like JB explained is the right way.

Yes, meat is a source of food but not one that you need for surving wink.gif. Nobody in this whole wide world LOVED meat as I did. I come from a country where we eat meat every single day in every meal and I loved meat dearly. smile.gif But then it became like an addiction to me (yes, I could not eat anything if I didn't have a lil piece of meat) and I just decided that something so insignificant like meat will control me. And in a period of months, I quit eating meat slowly but surely and I'm a vegetarian now for the past 6 months. I never ever felt so much healthier, energetic and with a soft and beautiful skin!. smile.gif So I know it may not be easy to stop eating meat, you don't have to really but once a week should be more than enough. smile.gif

I've sorta been on a vegan diet for over 2 years now and I don't have the energy you refer to LDS_forever. I usually cheat during Christmas. Then again I'm addicted to snacking so maybe that explains it.
Have you ever heard of this diet called the "Halelujah Die"? Not sure if I spelled that correctly. Nevertheless Rev. George Malkms advocates eating everything raw but omitting meat, dairy, sugar, white flour and salt. Many people have been healed of their illnesses....sometimes terminal as well. Its impressive actually, but giving up flour and sugar seems almost impossible to me. One of these good days when I have the drive......
