Joining In Discussion & Joining To Preach

Joining In Discussion & Joining To Preach

With regards to the LDS section of Discussion I have noticed there are three kinds of people that join the Community. You have those that join in order to Discuss, those that join to Preach or Instruct and lastly those that are simply spammers.

Joining to Discuss: With what is currently some 2,800+ Topics and almost 16,000 replies you will think there is enough here to Discuss. There are those who do enthusiastically join and just start Replying with their opinions and sharing ideas. We applaud this, that is what it is all about.

Joining to Preach or Instruct: There are some who join to put us 'straight'. They have a message and they will say it to us at all costs. It does not matter if it is off topic, not LDS or not even spiritual. They are usually not interested in Discussion per se, just making a point and if they do not find those that agree with their ideas, ideology or interpretations they become emotionally engulfed and leave. I can never understand the need to force everyone to believe or be excited about what these types of Members say.

Spammer: From beginning to end they are desperate for you to see their link, their site, contact them privately and so forth. They even think that their link is so spiritually endowed that it should supersede our Rules. Of course they are not interested in Discussion at all and vacate quickly when they relize they cannot jump the system.

Feel free to add your thoughts.

Preach Joining and Discussion Joining

I think is better to have a few people willing to discuss than a hundred trying to shovel down your throat their own agendas. Based on my little time here I think the ones that come to preach don't last long, they're also the ones easily offended.

Joining In Discussion & Joining To Preach Studies Doctrine Mormon

What I see a lot in most sites is lots of philosophies of men mingled with the scripture you know what am I saying? And they try to fight it as it is the truth or doctrine specially church policies or traditions.

Preach Joining and Discussion Joining

Perhaps there is a fourth one you can add to your list:

Joining to preach false doctrine

I see a lot of people trying to do that online in a lot of places, perhaps not as much here because of all the moderation. Also, they pretend to be members but you just know they aren't by the things they say.

Preach Joining and Discussion Joining

Men who think they know more than those chosen to lead by the Lord are doomed to fail from the very start. They are obvious to someone who knows the word and less so to someone who isn't on their guard.
