I have never had anyone choose an intelligent item. I will have to look more into it before I can say if it is acceptable. Please proceed as you were, I should get back to you shortly, within the next day.

Notes:

Aleric has been banished to
an alternate universe by an
ancient horror (A terrible demon
bearing the likeness of a Great Wyrm
that crossed the veil of the astral
plane and leveled his home and his city).

Once the son of Hederick Cousland, a
prominent noble hailing from the city of
Parlainth in a world known as Barsaive,
Aleric has since witnessed the cruel murder
of his mother and father and the total
destruction of his homeland.

He now finds himself in a world that is
completely alien to him.

Felthalas your character is approved and ready for play, please begin in the town of Klagek. Also have you given thought to a magical item (up to 7,500gp in value) and a mutation?

I will allow intelligent magical items but I need to know, specifically, what its attributes are.

Thank you very much, I would like to be a rogue but since we all start off as barbarians in the stats. I thought that item would be best for me.

Characters Calling Dark Dragons and Dungeons PBP

Hey there Oliron,

Thanks for considering me for your campaign.

I'm considering the following back story:

Having discovered an rare cache of Orichalculm ore (an extremely rare metal native to Barsaive possessing the properties of elemental earth, air, fire, and water which, when magically forged to weapons, imparts the following properties: greater fortitude against breaking, +1d4 fire damage, +1d4 frost damage & +1d4 lightning damage), Aleric led a trade caravan bound for Throal (an underground city renowned for its dwarven smiths) bearing this rare metal. However the caravan was destroyed and most of the Orichalcum was stolen during the raid of the Astral Horror (Most likely because Orichalcum weapons are the only means capable of damaging such horrifying beasts).

I wanted to share this with you because I was wondering if instead of starting off with a magical item, I could start of with a bar of Orichalcum Ore (enough to forge a single weapon, which I'm thinking Aleric might be able to do at a much higher level).

Also, I'm not sure but I think read something about each character having some sort of mutation. I was wondering I mine could be the ability to sense astral beings (he can sense astral beings and they can sense him) which Aleric would have acquired after being marked by Vestrivan (that would be the name of the Astral Horror which destroyed his homeland).

Felthalas, I've gone over everything you said and it all looks to be in order. Please proceed by joining the game inside the town of Klagek. I will eventually weave Aleric needing to forge a weapon, into the game.
