Remove Stains - Page 3

Hi LDS, I have heard a mixture of fresh lemon juice and salt rubbed on spots and placed in sun will bleach out yellow in old stains. I haven't actually tried it myself, but have been told about it by a few people, so maybe test it on a small area of your top first?

I've also been told that half a cup of dishwash detergent mixed into a paste and spread on the item for 30 minutes, again I haven't tested it myself.

I would really try and get some of the goo-gone if you can though, because I have used it on some of my kids tops that have had stains that other products haven't shifted, and it has worked really well. (Sometimes you might have to repeat the process) but it actually smells lemony/citrus, definitely non offensive.

I don't know whether you can get a product called oxi plus, or whether it is only available in England, but if you can get hold of any, that is wonder stuff too.(I buy it from the £ shops- where everything costs £1) I thought it would be pretty rubbish at that price, but decided to try it anyway, I must say, I am certainly finding the 'cheaper' products the better ones!.

hope this is of some help to you, and congratulations on your news!

Thanks Diane! I will try some of these things and see if it works. I do not think I can get those products you mentioned here in Trinidad but I will check the supermarket next time and see if they are available. Thanks for your congratulations and help! smile.gif

Hi LDS, I was reading a book today, that was saying that a good stain remover is to grind an aspirin and mix a tiny bit of water with it, and spread over the stain, leave on for a while and then machine wash.

I don't know if it works, or whether you have the aspirin pain killers in Trinidad, but it might be worth a shot if you can get hold of any.

Stains Remove

Question... Has anybody got any help or advice that they can offer please for getting coca cola out of a car seat.laugh.gif

A 2ltr bottle of coca cola exploded all over my car seat the other day.. yup.. the whole bottle.
The seat is fabric, and we immediately cleaned it with fabric upholstery, but once it had dried, the seat became brittle, and stained really badly.

I would appreciate anybody's suggestions.. thanks.
