You have reached the age of 18-19 and it is time to serve a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Are you excited or merely following the crowd because everyone around you expects that you will do it? Do you see the blessings that will come or are you thinking about leaving your work, school or girlfriend (boyfriend)? Share your thoughts.

Pressured to go on a Mormon Mission? - Page 4

I didn't go at 19 like most men I waited a year because I didn't feel ready to go, and I remember the pressure. I don't think everyone does it intentionally but I definitely felt like a second class citizen that year. I understand everyone is human and I don't regret going but it probably would have been more beneficial if I had waited another year. It seems that too many young men go because someone else wants them to go, parents, friends, girls, bishops, whoever. They should go because they want to serve the lord and not because some one else wants them to serve.

Mission Mormon on to Pressured

I will agree not everyone goes for the right reason, but hopefully there will be someone to help encourage them rather than pressure them.
