Raising of Helldiver plane gets delayed

Divers have secured air bladders to the World War II SB2C-4 Helldiver bomber that has rested on the bottom of Lower Otay Lake since 1945, and it is scheduled to be brought to the surface and to shore early Friday morning. Ref. Source 1

Interesting story behind the plane but I wonder how so much money can be spent on its recovery considering the economic times the US is in:

Joseph Metz of Youngstown, Ohio, survived the crash, swam to shore and hitchhiked back to their base at Ream Field in the South Bay.
