Sheri Dew, former second counselor in the Relief Society general presidency
and current CEO of Deseret Book Company, has been asked by the White House
to serve as a White House delegate and private-sector adviser to the
Commission on the Status of Women, an international commission. She will be
participating in the 47th session of the Economic and Social Council
Commission on the Status of Women, to be held in New York, New York, from
3-14 March.

On Saturday, 28 June, dreams became reality for Church member Andrea Finch
when she won the title of the 46th America's Junior Miss. The 18 year old
from Indio, California, was a National Merit Scholarship finalist and the
La Quinta High School salutatorian with a 4.78 grade point average in the
international baccalaureate program. Other Church members who participated
in the national program and either competed in the finals or were awarded
preliminary scholarships include: Catherine Cole of Nevada, Julia Higgins
of Washington, and Kelianne Lancaster of Wyoming. Sara Marshall of Idaho
was also a participant.
