We speak with Manuel Gonçalves, a "nieto recuperado," or a "recovered grandchild," in Argentina. He is one of the thousands of children born to parents who were disappeared during the dictatorship. These children were born in captivity, then kidnapped by the military and given away to government supporters or military families. Some of them have found their way back to their families. Ref. I wish we had death penalty in Argentina so people (just a term in his case) like him could be put to death immediately.

CNN) -- An Argentinian court is expected to render its verdict Wednesday in the trial of a former dictator on charges of human rights abuses during the nation's right-wing rule from 1976-83, the government's Judicial Information Center said.

Jorge Rafael Videla was among the coup leaders who overthrew then-President Isabela Martinez de Peron in March 1976. He ruled as dictator until 1981.

Also on trial in a separate proceeding is Luciano Benjamin Menendez, former head of the Third Army Corps. He is accused of violating the human rights of four people.

Another former dictator, Gen. Reynaldo Benito Bignone, was sentenced in April to 25 years in prison for kidnapping and torturing 56 people. He ruled Argentina from June 1982 until the nation's return to democracy in December 1983....

Kidnappings Military Argentina

In another horrid case, there is 30,000 people in Argentina disappeared without a trace. We know that they are dead but the families of these people can't even say that their relatives are dead because they don't have a dead body to prove it. I interviewed a infamous ex-police officer that was a torturer in the dark 70's of the military government in Argentina. He participated in the disappearance of people during that time. When I asked him in the interview if he was a torturer, he was silent for a long time and then answered, "Well, I consider myself like the hard type", but he didn't respond to the my question... Or he did?.
