Comments: This might make a few people mad but how can people come pare photography as an art compared to where you take a blank piece of paper and come up with something. Photography is just point and click but with real art you have to give a lot of thought into what you are going to paint.

Say photography is just "Point and click" Is like saying that drawing is just dragging a pencil. It's technically true, but it's also a gross oversimplification. It's true that any idiot can pick up a camera and figure out how to work the shutter, but it's equally true that any idiot can use a pencil to make marks on paper. Photography and drawing aren't competing disciplines, they're actually complimentary, and have overlapping skill sets. If you want to make a good picture either way, you need to understand composition.

There is a big difference between getting a passport picture done and a photography session. Just as there is a difference between a full sketch and full color oil painting. In both cases it depends on your time, skill and tools. The thing that may take longer is painting but it does not necessarily make it better.
