What About Canadians?

Has anyone here who isn't a Canadian ever been to Canada? I have heard many positive things about it, except for the bitter cold. However, on US television shows you often hear scripts with lines like... 'Don't worry about him, he is only from Canada', etc. What is it about Canada or Canadians that causes the US to take the mic out of them? Maybe the US is just jealous?

What About Canadians? History & Civil Business Politics

I went to Victoria BC in 1988 with my sisters for the July 4th holiday. Except for the 'Touristy' store fronts, you wouldn't have known you were outside the USA.

I don't think Canada is any colder than the northern most parts of North Dakota, Minnesota, etc. And there again, it depends on where in Canada you go.

I've heard that Quebec is really different, culturally(?), than the rest of Canada. That they consider themselves true Canadians. I met a woman from Quebec and I could hardly understand her, her French/Canadian accent was so thick. But from what I could understand, she made me want to visit Quebec. What she described was so quaint.

As for making fun of Canadians, I don't think it is any worse than how we poke fun of those from North Dakota, & Minnesota. I have relatives from both of these states, and believe me they DO talk slower than molasses sliding off a window pane at -20 degrees farenheight!!!

IMHO of course!

I think AGene hit it right on the money. We just like to tease. For the most part, I don't think we dislike Canadians, it is just one more "group" to tease playfully, like a joke about Blondes or someone from the South, or California, etc.

I have ancestral roots from Canada. Also, a woman who works in my office is from Canada. She enjoyed the Canadian jokes I got off this site, and said most of them are based in truth. It is just funny. Where else do they go to the store and ask for homo-milk? (Homogenized (sp)) smile.gif

Canadians What

I like Canadians, some of my bestest friends like Legal Boi are Canucks, but JB's suggestion that we American Tards are in some way "Jealous" Of Canada really was a bit much. I'm not saying that all the positive things he's heard are untrue, I just doubt he's heard the negatives. Facts are, that decades of pussified leftist socialism has plunged Canada into a death spiral heading for oblivion

The following FTS (Facts That Sux) regarding Canada, have been brought to yuo courtesy of the Car Key Boi B)

FTS#1. Unemployment in Canada is high, much higher than in the US

FTS#2. The Canadian military is on the brink of collapse due to decades of penny-pinching. Basically most of their equipment is obsolete, inoperable, and even if they had the bucks to buy new planes/tanks/boats/blah, it would take them years and even more bucks to train new people in how to use it. The situation is so bad that even the Trinidadian military could whip their butts.

FTS#3. Their "Free health care" Is also in a death spiral. It might be free, but it's also lethal. If yuo need surgery yuo really don't want a Canadian surgeon cutting yuo open like a laboratory frog. I'm sure Canadian surgeons are highly competent folk, if they had the resources, but they don't. Surgeons are performing open heart ops in hospital parking lots, using Swisstechs for scalpels, and a bottle of Alberta Gold for anesthetic. Health care is the reason why the birth rate in Canada is in decline and the death rate is rising. Canadians are dying on the operating table and at birth, and lets not forget the poor elderly folk freezing to death in log cabins, unable to afford heating coz the govt. Has robbed their life savings with their punitive taxation (Details to follow)

FTS#4. They have huge taxation, especially for higher earners. Nearly double that of the US. Some of my Canuck friends have more than half their paycheck (55%) taken by their govt. Sales tax is also punitive, being a combination of a national and a provincial sales tax, and combined, it adds up to something like 15 or 16%. Back in the States, we don't have a national sales tax as such, it's up to individual states, and it varies from zilch to just 8%

FTS#5. Canada has more fraudsters and scam artists than any other place in the world (Per capita) even more than Nigeria. Montreal and Vancouver are world renowned for being the boiler room capitals of the world

FTS#6. Because of their lax immigration laws and the fear of upsetting the Muslim community, the Canadian govt. Have caved into demands for Sharia law to be applied to the Muslim community in the form of tribunal boards, and that the decisions given by these Sharia tribunal boards, will be enforced by the Canadian courts. These tribunal boards go a lot further than just settling disputes between local Muslim businesses. They will also have power over civil and family matters like divorce, custody of kids and so on and so forth. Even marriage. They are essentially trying to remove themselves from the Canadian legal system. Say a Muslim gurl is promised as a wife to another family's son. She objects but is "Compelled" To go through with it. At some point, say she wants a divorce or to take some legal action, the husband can INSIST on the Sharia tribunal. Because the wife is religious, she will feel obligated to go that route also. This is so scary the more I think about it. In theory, she has the choice to go through the Canadian legal courts, but in PRACTICE, giving the nature of her religion and culture where the husbands decide EVERYTHING, she will be forced to go through their "Arbitration" And suffer their laws, not Canada's. She's going to be screwed because under their Sharia system, a women's rights amount to jack. For her to get out of this situation, she will have no choice but to renounce her religion and become an outcast from her community. This is a HUGE can of worms that the Canadian govt. Have opened and yuo mark my words, if the Canucks refuse to lay the smack down on this, those fundamentalist Muslims are going to get more and more powerful and give it 5-10 years or so, Canada's most popular TV show is going to be "Wife Stoning, Live From Quebec!" And Canada will be plunged back into the dark ages

FTS#7. Because of the aforementioned declining birth rate and increasing death rates, Canada's overall population is in decline, in spite of unlimited immigration

FTS#8. 1-7 are FACTS (Apart from the bit about Surgeons using Alberta Gold for anesthetic and Swisstech Utili-Keys for scalpels) Any economist tard will tell you that HIGH UNEMPLOYMENT+HIGH TAXATION+DECLINING POPULATION=CERTAIN ECONOMIC MELTDOWN

That is all

Rather off topic, but...
I edited one word which has been replaced in bold and italics. This was a very minor infraction, but please remember all posts need to be written so that it is appropriate for children not adults. What is perfectly acceptable for an adult to read is not necessarily acceptable for children. Thanks. -- TenaHeff
