Wiccans - True Religious Order? - Page 6

I have boggled my brains reading this entire thread some very good information and this is one question that comes to mind.

Who is the horned one? I have read that mention in wicca not it was general every time I see it. Is the the male part of the god/goddess mentioned in other posts here? If so I think we can see why Christianity refers to it as Satan.

Lucifer has been around a long time as have witches I have often thought that in Geneses the stem of these two belief system as mention. When Adam and Eve left the garden they had many children many many children fair enough now some of them obvious had to mate but it speaks of those who are not from Adam and Eves belief system. Many will argue that they are just the fallen child of Adam and Eve. But God forbid them to marry into them. Is there in your teaching any references to origin and quicks that this that could match and paint a fuller picture.

Also I would like some opinions on a site I found that offers to teach about Witchdom and would it be a reliable source on learning more.

Order Religious True Wiccans

It seems there are many different types of Wicca. As stated before Wiccans sometimes form covens. This collection of people usually determines within their group what guidelines and beliefs they are going to follow. This comes about from the individuals strengths in my experience.

Sort of like in christianity when one group believes in healing by laying on hands. One individual may have gifts in Divinitation, while another might be drawn to healing abilities. This means the coven will most likely be more focused on those areas and have beliefs associated with those gifts. Though as stated most believe in the general law of whatever you do comes back by three, sort of like Karma.

This being said there are evil practitioners of Wicca. As this religion is pretty open about what Gods you can worship and what spells you might cast. I find it hard to believe all these Wiccan's who have posted are unaware of this fact. However the majority of Wiccan's are good hearted I find and would not harm anyone even if they had reason to.

I once was a Wiccan and practitioner of the arts, along with a close friend. At one point we both stumbled upon a concept together. He decided to use it for his own gain, were I thought it should not be used as a tool against people. We had a falling out because of this. Also I have known of several other Wiccans who practiced what I would call evil magic.

The Horned God, to my understanding of it, has domain over a number of areas. Most all of which are centered around male traits. He is sort of like the father were the Goddess is the mother. Many also think the Horned God also carries the souls of the dead to the underworld and rules there. He is also thought of as the God of the hunt, and wild animals. It is thought the Goddess is more developed than him and the stronger of the two. Again this is my understanding of the Horned God, others will probably have different opinions.

Lastly if you look at the date of the old pagan sabbaths and christian holidays, you will find they are very close to one another. I am fairly certain this is because early christianity wanted to convert pagans to christianity but the pagans would not give up their sabbaths and rituals. By allowing these holidays (with pagan roots) within christianity they were able to convert many more people who depended on those rituals for fertility and such.

Wiccans - True Religious Order? Paranormal & Mystics Dreams Studies

Name: Wiccan

Comments: Of course we are a true religious order. We have beliefs and practice those beliefs. We have been around far longer than Islam, Christianity and all the others yet were often despised, shunned and ignored when we claim a need for recognition.

Just because Wiccans aren't mainstream or as popular doesn't mean they shouldn't be taken as seriously as well established religions. If anything Wiccans closer resemble how religion was before Christianity even came into the picture.

Agreed, Brathwade. I also think that this thread should be posted under a Wicca or Paganism thread on the Religion board, rather than the Studies of Dreams, Mystics & Paranormal topic.

Rather off topic, but...
Is there a specific board/thread for Wicca like there is for LDS, Islam, Judaism, etc.?

Wiccans - True Religious Order?

Whenever I hear about this religion it reminds me of the 60s movement and I don't mean that in any disrespectful way. They seem to focus a lot with being one with nature and using natural everyday items to tap into the supernatural.
