Racehorse California Chrome will be allowed to use a nasal strip while racing in the June 7 Belmont Stakes, New York racing officials decided today.
The decision keeps alive the 3-year-old's bid to win horse racing's Triple Crown after winning the Preakness Stakes and Kentucky Derby.
The manufacturer says the strips can improve performance and decrease the chance of bleeding in the lungs in racehorses. Ref. CNN

Justify wins the Triple Crown. Justify becomes the 13th thoroughbred to win the Triple Crown, finishing first at the Belmont Stakes.
It's trainer Bob Baffert's second Triple Crown.
Justify, along with American Pharoah in 2015, are the only horses to win the Triple Crown since Affirmed did so in 1978. Ref. CNN.
