Lance Armstrong once again has decided not to cooperate with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency but said he still plans to "Cooperate fully" with other anti-doping authorities instead. For the second time in two weeks, the famed cyclist has rejected USADA's deadline to submit to a full debriefing about how he cheated on the bike and got away with it for years. If he had agreed to cooperate in time, his testimony could have paved the way for a reduction in his lifetime ban from sanctioned sporting events. Ref. USAToday

The Justice Department will join a civil lawsuit against disgraced cycling champion Lance Armstrong, which alleges that the seven-time Tour de France winner defrauded team sponsor U.S. Postal Service by his use of performance enhancing substances. The original lawsuit, filed in 2010 by former Armstrong teammate Floyd Landis, alleges that the use of illegal substances violated terms of the Postal Service's $30 million sponsorship. Armstrong, who had long denied cheating allegations, acknowledged last month in televised interviews with Oprah Winfrey that his "Mythic perfect story'' of how he reached cycling's highest echelon after battling cancer was "One big lie.''
