Asthelion, a comfortable-looking sofa and two upholstered chairs make this room seem cozy and inviting. In front of the sofa is a small table, and bookshelves line the wall. Most of the books now lie heaped on the floor. Beside one of the chairs is a small bag with knitting needles protruding from it. There is a closed door on the opposite side of the room.

Avan is going to look under the bed, but proceed no further. He will go back and follow the path that Asthelion took.

"I'm not going further my way without backup. Something or someone is rotting in the next room on my side," he says as he walks up to Asthelion.

Avan you search under the bed and find nothing. When you are beginning to stand though you see a rotting hand hanging out of the beds blanket. Slowly coming to a full stand you take in more pieces to this puzzle. There is a lump on the bed about the size and shape of a body. The blanket is stained threw in a few places and radiates the foulest smell you could ever have imagined.

Suddenly you wretch from the whole scene. It's then you register that you've been hearing Asthelion talking in the next room with someone. Curious and eager to join back up with your companion you move to the door to open it, but stop.

"I don't know.", you hear Asthelion say, followed by some other deep voice you can't make out.

"Yes.", Asthelion says followed by silence.

"Maybe.", Asthelion says, un-audible voice, more silence.

Avan opens the door and sees Asthelion staring wide eyed at the wall. You see no one else in the room which immediately makes your skin tingle with fear and your hair stand on end.

"Come on Asthelion lets get out of here, something is very wrong.", you hear yourself say as you grab hold of Asthelion.

Asthelion does not respond, but continues to stare blankly ahead. This response from him triggers panic in you as you hear the creak of a door opening behind you.

Avan bursts into a sprint towards the door opposite the sound. It seems to take minutes but he makes it to the stairs. His breathe comes out as short gasps. His eyes dart about the stairwell looking for the exit. Remembering he is one floor up Avan's hands grasp around the railing, trying to hang onto something solid if just for a moment.

Taking two, sometimes three steps at a time he arrives at the first floor. Avan exits the lighthouse running and does not stop until he gets to the shore.

Bursting threw the undergrowth the panicked rouge stumbles on three lizard-men. They come towards him from the waters edge, he fears again for his life. Instead of attacking though the lizard-men grab hold of him, saying his name. The lizard-men speak common with an accent but Avan understands. They tell him he is okay. The party of lizard-men he fought mistook him and Asthelion for pirates. They tell Avan the pirates had murdered the family in the lighthouse, now it is haunted by their vengeful spirits.
