Terminology
As a future web owner you should know some internet jargon.
Flash - A plugin that enables your browser to utilize and display animation / sound from the .swf extension.
Domain - It is a web address to distinguish your site like "yourname.com".
ISP - Internet Service Provider, usually a company that allows you to access the world wide web via telephone (dial-up), ADSL, cable or wireless connection.
Hosting - Your website has to reside somewhere, a host acts as the 'home' where your website stays. From here everyone can see it via the world wide web.
WWW - World Wide Web, a network of servers (computers) that are interconnected through ISPs (internet service providers) to provide you with what you are seeing now.
Web Designer - A person who creates visual content for users of the WWW.
Web Developer - Similar to a Web Designer but also knowledgeable of coding and server management.
