Sure, but if there are Russian planes there too America will be less likely to bomb the area.

Weren't there Russian personnel at the last airbase we bombed? I don't think that would stop it but what they did was scatter their planes making it harder to hit them all in one place.

If they are still in Syria then the planes can still be attacked and taken out. If some russian planes get damaged too oh well.

Yes, we can still attack but I don't think we will. Since it is Russian leased we'll leave it alone. That said, anywhere else they have planes is free game and keeping them in one place makes them less effective. The reason is they aren't in optimum positions throughout the country so they spend more fuel getting to a target, have less time to loiter and attack over the target and then have to spend more fuel getting back to base. All the while they are susceptible to anti-aircraft fire from multiple different platforms.

I am not sure if the Syrian government has much left of their air-force. I have a feeling that once the fighting is over the Syrian government will once again train some pilots to once again have a protective air force.

They still have a respectable Air Force for a minor power. It's old and outdated, but it's a heck of a lot better than what the rebels possess, which is nothing.

Yes small outdated and unable to fly due to no fly zones or they will be shot out of the sky. Seems to me not much of a air-force right now.

Most of those no fly zones are defunct now that Russia is there. The Syrian Air Force flies where it wants under protection of Russian SAMs and air superiority fighters.
