Pakistan Roots

Although I personally do not have relatives/ancestors from this country,
we do however have a friend of our family who's roots are in Pakistan.

He has told me that for him personally, it has been hard trying to trace his roots back, as his surname is quite popular, and also there are several variations of the same name with maybe just one letter changed in the name.
He said that especially now his parents no longer live in Pakistan, it has been hard for him to get any other family member interested enough to try to track any details down for him.

Sadly, I think this is quite common in a lot of countries, people just don't have an interest any more in history.
