I have one dream that Villa will win the champions league like thats ever going to happen *laughs*. I have a book on dreams this is what it says.
Night dreams: A night dream is an untrue happening that can be about anything.
Day dreams: A day dream is usually a dream about a preference at that particular time.
Now I find this hard to interpret could someone verify what the book is trying to say.
The book is called: What a dream is, and its by Suzanne Poyet
I also dream that Aston Villa will win the cup. I can only give you my opinion.
Nightdreams: These are hard to explain as they are completely random and the only suggestion I can come up with is that it is your subconscious that chooses these at random from either your fears or wants what I mean by wants is something you desire.
Daydreams: These are slightly easier that nightdreams to explain. Daydreams are what you imagine what you want your ultimate goal in life to be. These are very rarely bad as you have complete control over them. Daydreams are the reason so many people have been successful in life and is the meaning behind living a dream. DAYDREAMING IS BRAIN'S DEFAULT SETTING, STUDY FINDS
Daydreaming seems to be the default setting of the human mind and certain brain regions are devoted to it, U.S. researchers reported Friday.

Interesting study although it does not specifically says what is the real purpose or function of daydreaming. I tend to daydream quite a lot, also my eldest son too, and yes like this article mentions, while I am daydreaming I am actually thinking about the things I need to do later on.
When you dream that your team is going to win (assuming you root for Aston Villa), it's quite natural. But again, I've read that dreams which you see at night are very unreliable and are completely random.
They can be about anything from your favourite team winning or personal favourite; fear of giving an exam without preparing
The daydreams on the other hand are more close to what's really going on with our life at that time. It's like we give our body some rest and the mind takes over to finish the thinking part associated with that task on hand. It may not something you need to do immediately or in the near future, but definitely something about which you have to make up your mind.
