This will need to be verified when we get a news source, but I just heard over the news that a mother killed all three of her children by first stabbing them and then drowning them because she did not get some social services or welfare handout. The father was saying that she planned it and often used drugs. The mother called police to come, when they did she showed them the dead children.

I would like to know why Social Services refused for 3 years to handle custody of these kids to their fathers or relatives who knew she was neglecting them but Social Services keep rejecting the whole idea. A full investigation should take place. Poor babies.

The mother, Leatrice Brewer, was charged with multiple counts of murder, Nassau County police said. "It was a disturbing scene," Detective Lt. Kevin Smith said. Officers were met at the two-story home by a woman who directed them to a top-floor apartment, where they found the children, Jewell Ward, 6, Michael Demesyeux, 5, and Innocent Demesyeux, 1. The 27-year-old single mother wasn't home but was found later, said police, who wouldn't reveal where they arrested her. The county medical examiner's office was trying to determine the causes of the children's deaths. Police wouldn't discuss how they think the children died. Neighbors said Brewer, who cared for the children alone, had been overwhelmed. One neighbor, Cornisha Robinson, said she saw her last week pushing an empty stroller in the street and wondered where the children were. "She neglected them," Robinson said. "She used to leave them in the house all the time by themselves." But relatives and friends said Brewer loved the children, whom they called "wonderful." They asked people to pray for her. "If I had any idea that it was this bad for her, you know, I would have reached out and tried to intervene," said Suzanne Blissett, Jewell's godmother.... |

Did Not Get Social Services Handout History & Civil Business Politics
Once again we have a problem with social services. They were told that this mother has repaetly neglected the children and there was a father who would have cared for them a lot better. When are the courts going to start looking at mothers and fathers equally. The fact that a mother has more say even if she abuses or neglects the children over the father is sickening. Here is a prime example of why the mother should only of had visitation and not physical custody of these children.
Handout Services Social Not Did
I merged the two Topics as I already started it. This is the thing I do not understand about US Social Services, it is like the two extremes... on one hand you have parents losing their children over 'little' things, and then you have violent women holding on to them. The other part is the way the relatives of the mother are defending her hands down after just killing her own kids - crazy.
