Torture & Value Of Life

Based on what I saw, and heard as testimony from former US intelligence torturers in the documentary 'Taxi To The Darkside', one of the problems with being a torturer is that day after day of telling a prisoner he is a "dog" for example is that you begin to actually believe it. If the prisoner is particularly resilient to questioning you may want to become more aggressive to get results. The question asked here is how do you remove yourself from that and remember that life is precious?
