Blame - Give Or Take? - Page 2

QUOTE
raised by a strict father who wasn't always fair

It is interesting that you did not turn out the opposite (blaming others instead) as it may have been a form of abuse on the part of your father likely to be perpetuated by the offspring.

Take Give Blame

Well, I used to blame everyone else, but once after hurting my brother, who is reflective of my father in anger and me in his mellow moods, I changed my perspectives. Where does blaming anyone else help anyone but myself? And even then, does that really help me in the long run?

I see past mistakes live on through the offspring; my brother is a prime example. I decided a while back that I didn't need to be my father's mirror.

Blame - Give Or Take? Health & Special Psychology

If it was caused indiractly by me, well - I'd say exactly that. I may have been involved but I did not start whatever it was, therefore I'm not to be blamed (Well, that's my logic at least biggrin.gif )

I will usually be the first person to take the blame. Usually because I don't like conflict, and if somebody is willing to be the first one to stand up and admit they had some part in it, then the overall atmosphere is a lot more positive.
