On 7th July, the Court of Florida has summoned the minister Alexandre de Morais, from the Federal Supreme Court, in an action moved by Trump Media and the streaming videos platform Rumble.
Both companies accuse Moraes of violating laws from north-america when he ordered the blocking of active profiles in the USA, an action they classify as censorship.
The new document stablishes the time limit of 21 days for Moraes to present a formal response through his chosen lawyer.
If Moraes doesn't answer the summon in the stablished time, the lawsuit may still follow without the minister's defense from the accusations containing in the lawsuit.
Alexandre de Morais, a member from the brazilian Supreme Court, has been issuing judicial orders to block many social medias profiles in Brazil, following an enquiry which was provoked by and created by the Supreme Court, the validity of this contested even by members inside the Supreme Court. The enquiry was created to investigate threats to the Supreme Court, and has been used to block profiles using judicial orders, almost all of them from conservative and liberal people. The allegation was that these series of actions is a way of pursuing a specific group and shutting up an active voice that represents a vast portion of the overall population in Brazil. Many consider this to be censorship, and that's why this lawsuit is advancing in USA, where the freedom of expression is still protected and observed.
