COPS TASER SNAKE TO SAVE HANDLER

A 14-foot python bit its handler and tried to drag her into its cage during a show at an aquarium, and wouldn't release the woman until a police officer zapped it with a stun gun.

Trainer Bites Python

This reminds me when I went to the zoo some years ago and this guy took out a python and put it around his neck, he asked if anybody would be willing to try it and out of the blue I said yes (because I knew they are nonvenomous) I put it around my neck and hold the snake's head. Now thinking back about it, the snake could have hurt me.

I am glad that the woman is fine and she wasn't hurt badly. Snakes (as any other wild animal) cannot be fully trusted.

This is a very frightening report. I am glad that a police officer was there to rescue the snake trainer or this story would have ended differently. I believe that all reptiles and animals are unpredictable. It doesn't surprise me that the python attempted to drag the trainer in its cage (and it would have devoured her). You cannot be too careful these days when dealing with wild animals; remember Sigfried and Roy (not sure of the spelling of these names), the world famous tiger trainers? The tiger almost killed one of the trainers, even though the tiger was accustomed to him. It is important to remember that, even though the animal/reptile may be well trained, docile and accustomed to the trainer, the animal's "killer instinct" should never be overlooked. After all, this is what makes any wild animal, very dangerous to all mankind.
