Jeaal laughs again, "She's a tough one, that's for sure. I'm Jeaal." He rises slightly and shakes the newcomers hand, then sits back down. "Food is good here."
He continues eating and drinking merrily.
AT THE RANCH
Captain Tomlin smiles in answer to Anntreen's words but the cleric can see that he is only trying to be polite: his expression is still that of regret. The veteran follows the party to the commoners' house, in the central part of the ranch, and waits patiently to see how the adventurers will accommodate themselves and, mainly, where he will have to sleep and with who.
Tomas checks the activities that are taking place by the main archway. The thugs are tied up and brought away by a group of peasants while another group, led by Zachary, takes care of the wounded workers and the carts. The two carts full of wool are brought to the stables, in the same direction followed by the prisoners, while the third cart and the workers make their way with Tomas to the Commoners' house.
After some time, a server announces that the bath is ready. You are led into a large room where several large wooden tubs have been filled with hot water and placed in two different areas, one for men and one for women. You are provided with soap and a towel as well as with a bucket of clean water, and left alone.
AT THE TAVERN
The tall and thin commoner, that seems to act as the voice of the small group, replies with a smile: "I think we will continue our conversation. If you need help handling the guy, just ask the guards". As to underline his words, the two militiamen are already standing next to the table caressing their sheathed weapons and staring fixedly at Ceza like if waiting for the slightest sign of reaction from him and take it as an excuse to start a fight.
Jeaal and Ceza start a light conversation that causes the commoners to lose interest in the events and head back to their table. Ja'laron concentrates on his meal, silent like he often likes to be.
Seeing that the situation is getting back to normality, the old server approaches the table bringing a bowl of soup and a mug of ale for Ceza. "One silver, sir", she says in a rather mechanical way, "Payment on delivery". She shows to the rogue her open palm waiting for the coin.
Mina gets to the counter and confronts Butch about his former request and the peeping stranger she had a glimpse of. "No, nobody... I mean, she said....", he starts stammering in an embarrassed way. Then he recollects his thoughts and says, in a whisper: "Too many ears, just head upstairs if you want to know more". He finally rises his voice, for everybody to hear: "Nobody here, Ma'am. Apart from Mr Murno and the Marquis, I mean. If the object we found is not yours then we will ask somebody else. Feel free to check your room if you want to". After that, he concentrates on the counter and the wet mugs, trying to look as busy as possible.
Ferrin shuffles quickly over to the male tub and sticks his nose over the rim, sniffing the steam coming off the water. "Nots sea waters," He declares. "I bes disappointeds, buts it will do's." He neatly sets his pack, quarterstaff, basket, and clothing off to one side, letting Alaric curl up on top of the pile. He grabs a bit of cloth and some soap to wash with, then jumps into the tub with a clumsy splash. He scrubs with the soap around his neck, armpits, privates, and feet, then hops out and splashes some of the other fresh water to rinse off.
Afterwards, he walks over to where Alaric has been napping, but the ferret senses Ferrin's intent, leaping off the pile and scurrying around the room. Ferrin, still wet and naked, chases his familiar in circles around the tub area, shouting, "Comes back heres, Alaric! You filthies animal! Youse needs a rinse, that's alls!" "Ah..." Krusten is relieved to have a bath but she has her axe not far from her, she is never relaxed even while taking a bath. After finishing up she will go downstairs and survey what is taking place.
Out of Character: When and how is the gold being divided?
Tomas gets his bath over and done with quickly, but then decides to get back in and rest a while.
Waiting in the bathroom for the members of the party that didn't go to the inn he sits on a bench and stares at the floor and asks anyone who leaves to please wait for the rest of them.
With everyone gathered he asks, "Shall we finalise plans for tomorrow? I suggest we start with handing over the captives to the guard, covincing them to pass a lenient sentence. Afterwards, we need to extract the corpses from the forest and have them identified and buried. Maybe beforehand, we should ask around town for missing people. Finally when the work is complete we should figure out what's the story behind the illusory hut! Again, the townsfolk should be asked. My trip to Loya can wait a few days. Does everyone like these ideas?"
Out of Character: Waiting for the full party before splitting, I think it's fair that items taken should be counted towards individual totals, or at minimum half value. We also have loot to sell, which Tomas has forgotten about.
Anntreen is one of the last to take a bath she has put her items some where safe and asked that someone who is done with their bath watch over the captain. She tells her friend they will talk a bit later and agrees with Tomas's plain for the next day.
We could also split forces after we deliver the captives we could have half the group head in with a wagon to fetch the corpses and half gather information around town and the ranch. That is if the master of this house offers us the use of a wagon to fetch bodies with.
I do not know when the others from the tavern will get back. I would hope it would be soon.
With that said Anntreen heads in to take her bath.
She sees that Krusten is taking a long soak in one of the tubs set up for the women, she averts her eyes to offer the woman privacy and walks over to one of the unused tubs. She neatly lays out her garments as she disrobes then slips toes fist in to the tub. Starting with her feet she takes the bit of cloth and soap given to wash and rub the soreness o the days long walk away. The last thing she dose is rinse off with the clean water before drying off and redressing in the set of clothing she had brought in from her bag, she carries out her dirty laundry and heads back in to talk with Carnosus.
Ferrin finally corners Alaric and snatches him up by the scruff of his neck as he tries to dart between Ferrin's legs. "Ah ha! Gots ya!" With a triumphant smile like that of a child bringing home his first frog to show his mother, Ferrin brings Alaric to the big tub of water and dunks the ferret in up to his neck while giving him a quick rub. The ferret's bath really is more of just a rinse and then a rub down with the towel, which Ferrin shares. Once they're both dry and clean, Ferrin gets dressed back in his damp clothes, but he still feels much fresher than before.
Ferrin is a bit unfocused during the planning meeting. Instead, he's pulled out the notebook that he recovered from the hut and is looking over the pages through a crystal that he's pulled from his spell component pouch (Using Read Magic) and trying to decipher what's written in there. He nods along with whatever plans the rest of the group makes.
Out of Character: Ferrin will unquestioningly take whatever share is given to him. He's in it for the adventure/glory, rather than the coin/loot. ICon, that seems like a fair way to distribute the goods and account for the other spoils.
