"There isn't much to tell... I am a warrior maiden seeking for my own spot in the world. I've been trained well by my relatives who were among some of the top military officers."
Not wishing to focus too much on herself she re-directs the question,
"And yourself? There must be more to you than religion."
Anntreen take another sip of her soup, "Yes, but nothing really amazing. I just started my pilgrimage a little while ago, most of its just been traveling. Nothing exciting has happened till I ran in to your group."
Taking a bite of bread then a sip of her drink, she goes on to add. "I have a family back home in the Confederation, My Father is a scribe and a bookkeeper for many of the merchants in the city. My mother was." she stops abruptly.
"My mother is, taking care of my sisters and staying at home." ~ something seems off with her tone in the last bit, almost a depressive quality and for a moment her normal smile looks forced.
She quickly flips the conversation back at you. "So do you have a family some where? And, where do you call home?"
Mina has been on the road for a few days mostly staying away from the little towns she's gone by, only entering to ask if she's on the right road to Soria. Tonight is different, it is wet and damp, and the cold is getting to her more than before. She needs to stop for the night inside somewhere warm....or at least dry. She spots the lights of a town and heads to them. She finds the nearest Inn or Tavern and enters.
A hooded figure enters the "Comfort of the Traveler", looks at her surroundings while counting the inhabitants within, then approaches the barkeep. "I would like to imbibe something to warm myself by that fireplace over there, please. I will be over there when it is ready."
With that she marches straight to the fireplace and pulls down her hood, and takes off her cloak. She sets her cloak against the wall hanging from her quarterstaff. She also lays her backpack by the cloak. She then pulls out from under her vest, a bird and puts it upon her left shoulder. She then squats down to face the fire appropriately.
(If anyone is looking at her, they see a red headed tanned human woman in mostly brown and green vestments. Her bird is a hawk.)
Krusten never liked talking about her family or lack there of... It always leads into many questions when she reveals that she was an orphan. She never liked pity either especially when the pity was over her past so to avoid all the possible emotions she just says,
"I mostly keep in contact with my uncle, he taught me most of what I know."
Seeing the hooded stranger come in is a perfect excuse to get the focus off of her.
"I have never seen someone so 'perfect' in these parts, I wonder what she is about." Krusten uses her chin to point at Mina.
Anntreen glances over at the new arrival to the room.
But, goes back to eating shortly there after, not being one to stare.
"I hope the boys are alright." Then taking a long sip off her mug- emptying it, and letting out a bevy breath. "That was good." Referencing to the hot spiced apple drink, she has just finished off.
"In the morning I want to head over to the Goatshearer's ranch, check in on the kids then start to ask question about there fathers around town. Dues that sound good to you?"
This last statement she says not as quietly as she was talking before. Almost loud enough so if any one was ease dropping they could hear, likely hoping the bar winch or another local might have information on the ranch they would freely offer at mere mention of the place.
The old maid slowly approaches the table, with her usual, bored, expression. "Mr Murno wants to invite the two 'enchanting fairies' to share a mug of ale at his table", she announces rolling her eyes and starting to collect the empty bowls. She stops an instant and, before heading back to the counter, she adds, talking to the newcomer: "Not in a hurry, right, young lady? I only have two hands...". Mina can see the woman lazily head back to what looks to be the kitchen door. The quiet atmosphere of the inn is disturbed only by the jokes and laughters of the two drunk guards. The grey hooded figure is still sitting silently at his table. Meanwhile.... A cold wind is now blowing in the open plains, where the group of explorers is still unsure about what to do next. They feel tired and hungry. Dark clouds are gathering in the sky shadowing the bright circle of the Cat. The first drops of rain announce a difficult night for the wildlife.
"I don't drink ale. But, I would not mind another Hot Apple cider." Then Anntreen looks puzzled for a moment. "Fairies?" Completely oblivious to it having been an attempted compliment. "What are your thoughts Krusten?"
Mina looks to the Bar Maid as she talks, then responds with, "No hurry, Miss. Not as long as this fire lasts. It's warmth has revived some of my worn spirit from my journey." Mina smiles as the Bar Maid walks away. She then leans over and sits next to her belongings near the fireplace, and sets eyes on the event of courting she perceives going on between the tables occupants.
