The old maid guides the girls up the stairs, to a corridor flanked by two rows of three wooden doors. She stops in front of the last door, on the right side, she opens it and says: "This is it. If you want some cider, I will order my son to bring it upstairs or you can get your free meal at breakfast or lunch tomorrow. Your choice. If you feel the need to take a bath, there's a well on the back, near the stables. Help yourselves". At the light of the lanterns, hanging from the roof in the corridor, you have a first, disappointing, glance at your accomodation. The room is dark. No light filters from the window in the cloudy night.
Against one of the walls, is a simple table with a single chair. A half candle is on it. On the other side is a large, square, chest and, in the middle, almost under the large window, a thick layer of straw dissipates any illusion of getting a real bed.

In the dinner room, the commoners decide to sit around the large table where the drunk guards are still shouting and joking between themselves. Seeing the girls going up and hearing the conversation between Berin and the innkeeper, the peasant that greeted Krusten says: "Come on, Butch! Not everyday we have the chance to get some entertainment! Let the boy play. We will pay for his drinks if he will deserve it. Can't be worse than staring at a high-nosed wannabe". His comment produces a burst of laughs from the other men. The two guards start singing an old traveler's song, in such a terrible way that Butch, the innkeeper, feels forced to agree with the proposal. "Ok, ok. Just make it short! My ears are already tired, anything to make them shut up. And you, boy. Better you show us something better than those drunkard's barks".

Out of Character: Lukego, if you really want to go for a personality check, roll on your Charisma (d20+ability modifier). If you beat a Dc of 20, FoxRogue will make a Will save that has to beat your result to be successful.

Krusten curses to herself that such a place costs a hard earned 4 silvers. She mumbles that breakfast better be a makeup. She looks at the delicate nature of her companions and immediately goes to one area of the floor away from the door and makes her equipment a bed and sleeps with her spear in hand. She adds, "Nothing better to disturb me until morning."

Anntreen quickly lights a candle, illuminating the room. And drawing her lantern lights it as well setting it next to the candle on the small table temporarily.

"Looks like you get the bed Ms Redfang."

Anntreen takes up a place near the door, she lays out her bag and other belongings leaning her quarterstaff up against the wall. She takes off her slightly damp robes and her armor, stripping down to her under her skirt and undershirt without becoming indecent. She slides off each boot fiddling around with the dagger and hidden sleeth within one, then sets them next to her pack.

"I'll take the area by the door." She says with a slightly disappointed forced smile.

She rolls out her bedroll in front of the door, whereas should someone try to open it, it would bump into her where she lay. From her bag she pulls out a large book a small carrying case of ink and pen's, setting them both at the head of her bedroll.

She then fetches the candle from the table leaving the lantern there to eliminate the room as the other ladies make their beds ready. She takes a candle over to where she's made her bed laying on her stomach her blanket over her back covering her body she opens the book and begins to fill in her journal.

From the thickness of the division in her book it is apparent that she is only a few pages in. Should someone glance over her to peer into the book it is blatantly clear to see that it is nothing more than a journal. She fills in the information about the children the wild dogs and the events befalling the last few days along with the names of her compatriots as so not to forget.

"The lantern is enough to turn off when you guys are ready for bed, I'll take care this candle and definitive you guys need out of the room in the night don't hesitate to wake me." And goes back to her writing, as it will take her some time to fill in the events of the previous days.

When Faruq sees the lead man plop down defiantly, he thinks, Mutiny. If brigands they be, this will work out in my favor. But Faruq's gut was telling him that this troupe had no evil in their hearts. Then again, he had trusted once before, and he had been betrayed. As he frequently did, Faruq once again relived the awful moments and deeds of that night not so long ago. The actions responsible for his exile and ghastly appearance, scars which always make him flee his own reflection.

No, he would stay his course and not volunteer any information as to his whereabouts-not yet.

Berin's eyes perked up at hearing Antreen's whispered advice about needing a guide and he felt the weight of travelling alone lift from his shoulders. "Truth in numbers!" Don Rickles always exclaimed at Berin, but that had more to do with dozens of underaged beggars crowding Marks in the street than travelling companions protecting each other from the blades and arrows of attackers. Although there wasn't much difference, if you DID think about it....

His ambitiousness faded though as the Innkeeper refused his deal. Just as Berin was about to gather his things and was contemplating sleeping in the barn again, the friendly peasant's offer to "Butch" once again brought the flash of a smile to the corners of his mouth. Grinning madly at his streak of luck this night, Berin shouted at Butch in his surprisingly pleasing tenor, ""That I CAN do, Butchie.... I mean Mister Butch, sir."

Unshouldering his bag and placing it beside him where his eyes would easily fall on it, Berin opened it's flap and dug out his pipes, well protected from the road within a cloth wrapping. He borrowed a clean-ish serving bowl from the old girl and set it before him, liberally adding a dozen coppers to season the soup, so to speak. Berin quickly launched into a family oriented travelling tune to tap the toe of your boots to (which typically got the womenfolk involved, and their kinder hearts were easier with the pursestrings).

Quickly gauging the feel of the crowd (and noting that the ladies had left), he then settled into a popular and merry marching tune to pique the interest of the drunken guards (sometimes good for a few coppers), which made some innuendo of an unnamed sergeant and a pig in a barrel named Sue. He noted only a minor waver in his blowing, not enough to get him booted out but far from professional grade as well, and made a mental note regarding his breathing control.

As the notes of that melody faded from the air, he moved to a more somber tune remembering fallen friends, bountiful harvests, and the sound of children's laughter to set the mood for fond memories and full tankards. He'd found long ago that leaving a crowd with warm memories of the past left them feeling more generous and sometimes generated a handful of silver coins for his busking.

Eyes appearing closed after the ballad, he kept his head down for a few seconds with his bangs falling over his face while he again looked around to see how his efforts fared. All in all, he was pleased with his performance - unless there was a minstrel in the bunch, he held his own well for an amateur with many hours of practice. With the quietness that the previous song evoked in Marks, he looked to the Innkeeper, "A dry throat makes for poor pipin', sir. Maybe a pint to keep my lips goin'?"
