Out of Character: I thought I had already posted, looks like I have to retype it. Also, lukego, you will find Ferrin paid the mistrusting inkeeper for sleep yesterday.

After Antreen's introductions, Tomas says, "I will speak here, as the invitation is for me. Please relay any messages through me." A pause. "I'd also like to nominate to be the main spokesman for this group, if we continue to Loya together. I have some experience dealing with lords and ladies."

After several minutes, the thick front door opens again and an elegantly dressed butler allows the party into the mansion. The main hall is impressing with its precious rugs and the refined tapestries that cover the walls. The butler guide you to a large, double staircase and up to a row of doors leading from the orned gallery to the private chambers. From upstairs, the main hall looks even more magnificent: velvet and brocade are alternated to golden candlesticks and other precious furnishments. The colonnade surrounding the upper gallery is not less gorgeous, anyway. The decorated columns and the accurate frets remember those of the most renowned temples in Bumi, and the upper archway is clearly the job of a skilled artist.

"Brother Tomas, Anntin the Priestess and the unknown she-warrior may enter Mr Goatshearer's private chambers. The rest of the group can wait in the sitting room on our left". This said, the butler invite the group into the small parlour, with a polite gesture of his hand. Two large couches face each other in the elegant room, separated by a low wooden small table. The tapestries on the walls depict scenes from the daily life in the farm and a large window offers a nice view of the fields and the herders at work. After showing the three of you into the parlour, the butler leads the rest of the group to another door and knock gently on the precious wood waiting for an answer. "Get in", is the brief order that you can hear coming from the other side. Your guide opens the door on a scene that looks taken from a painting.
Mr Simon Goatshearer is standing in a martial position in the middle of the room, with an empty, elaborated, armchair on his right and an ornated fireplace made of marble and stone on his right. On the only other chair in the room, by the fireplace, sits one of the most wonderful creatures you have ever seen in your life: a woma, on her early twenties with long blond hairs and piercing blue eyes. Her almost perfect face is turned in your direction, the chin pointing up and a welcoming smile on the pale lips. The simmetry of her features make her look more like the statue of a goddess rather than a human being. Her deep eyes burn with life and intelligence. Beauty and wit: the most dangerous combination that can come to your mind.

"Brother Tomas, I suppose", says the man shaking the paladin's hand while the butler retires in the gallery closing the door behind him. "My name is Simon Goatshearer, as you probably know, and this is my daughter Abigail. I heard from my workers about how You and your companions saved their lives, fighting back a dangerous pack of wild dogs. I wanted to thank You personally for that deed. My butler has already been instructed to reward You. I apologize, it will not be much: the recent events are causing us heavy losses". While her father talks, the eyes of the beautiful Abigail are pointed on Krusten. The woman is examining the young fighter with great interest. Goatshearer continues his speech: "I wanted to meet You and Your friends because I have a proposal for brave adventurers such as Yours. This bandit problem is distracting my attention from more important matters, like marrying my dear daughter here, and I would like to see the end of it as soon as possible. I recently received an interesting offer from a nobleman who fell in love with Abigail and I'm making my evaluations. I don't want distractions now. Brother Tomas, I would like to ask your help in recovering my missing goods and, eventually, bring to justice these brigands. What do you answer?"

Meanwhile...
Jonathan heads in the direction of the groove and soon realizes that the situation is a little bit different from what he thought at first glance. The group of trees looks larger than he judged and also its distance farther. After walking for more than one hour he still feels far from his destination. Pushing forward would mean risking to get lost on his way back. The ranger carefully examines the plains around him, searching for some reference that would help him find the Southern Road again, but he can't see any. The only relevant feature is the groove that now seems looking at him with a malevolent eye.

Anntreen nods and follows, silent and watchful.

Her hands are clasped one in the other in front of her. Her bright eyes are full of care, and her smile soft as normal.
She is listening intently, and watching on, with out a word.

"No doubt about it, we graciously accept your offer of work and justice," replies Tomas. He looks to Anntreen and Kursten, expecting comments, moreso from Kursten. Tomas continues, "Say, sir, I am asking from curiosity. Is this noble a local marqis?"

"Jamlamin, give me some direction on this hunt," Jon invokes, calling on the patron of his ennobled elven ancestors. "Help me stalk my prey, and deliver them to Mabuz's realm."

Out of Character: Boss, I hope you don't mind me naming another elven god.

Goatshearer controls himself in an admirable way but you can still catch a glimpse of surprise mixed with curiousity in his eyes. It lasts less than a second though. The wealthy merchant answers your question in a casual way, dissimulating his amazement: "Yes, Brother Tomas. A marquis indeed. A nobleman from Nedo. It is an honor for our family. He didn't even mentioned a dowry, dismissing it as a coarse matter. But let's get back to business. If you will recover my goods I'm willing to show my gratitude as deep as 50 gold coins. Plus other 50 if you can get rid of this band of brigands. Am I being grateful enough?".

Meanwhile...
Jonathan walks ahead, entrusting his luck to Jamlamin's good will. As time passes, the groove appears more near until it reveals itself for what it really is: a large stripe of burned vegetation, not too far from the entrance to the woods behind. The black stripe stretches to the east and west running all around the visible part of the woods.
Out of Character: No problem. We assume that there are a great number of minor and local gods so anybody can mention divinities that are not in the pantheon yet (but that could become part of it if they collect enough worshipers)

Before they enter the mansion, Faruq feels like Tomas is a good choice to be their outfit's spokesperson and has no objection. While he seemed apologetic about banging his head on the wall at the inn, Faruq saw nothing disconcerting about the act. Faruq's instinct told him Tomas was a honorable man.

Once inside the mansion, Faruq begins to be feel uncomfortable. He does not like being led around like one of his goats by this stiff man. He obeys and stays civil, but he won't take a seat. He takes in all the scenery alert and standing.
