Looking at the group not really knowing who is who but knowing that they at least seem capable. He says to Jon, "I will volunteer for that assignment." Ja"laron thinks to himself he should be able to tell if these are military minded bandits or common thieves by how the attack is executed. While the group comes to his decision, Ja'laron sits quietly back and tries to take in all the different information and body langauge of his new group.

But Jon, wouldn't you prefer to follow fresh tracks? I sincerely believe someone else should keep an eye here, even I would stay behind if nobody else wants to. And they can get to know Ja'laron who wants to stay, I wouldn't be trusting my life during battle in your hands just yet."
