Krusten is surprised there is nothing negative to say about Abigail, she seems rather demanding and childish, surely she would have picked on the servants at one time or the other. She decides to sharpen her spear and practice her combat moves until she can meet with the kitchen servant and find out what she has to say concerning the conversation earlier with the mysterious man about Abigail.
Faruq makes sure his scimitar is loose in its scabbard, ready for a clean draw. Though he is not overly concerned with an escape route, he agrees with Tomas about forcing them to make tracks. But...
"Tomas, if these men mean us harm, maybe we could subdue one and force him to be our guide. Letting them escape would only raise the alarm of the other bandits." Edited: Tonatha on 21st Jan, 2013 - 3:38pm
Staying quiet and following the others Anntreen seems a bit distracted, but when they get to the site of the massacre she stops dead in her tracks and just looks on in horror at the blood stained ground.
Anntreen will help in any way she can to fine out what happened here, and where the bandits came from and left.
Out of game : Sorry the event was [great] but I'm back now.
Mina walks back from her search of the southern trail. She's shaking her head at the simple ruse of misdirection she followed, and looks up to see the people coming with the carts for the dead. She stops by a body, ready to assist if needed.
On the road:
Two of the commoners that you saw this morning by the main gate of the ranch are leading the group of peasants, followed by four other men. One of them, the one tall and thin, greets your group as they approach. "Hail, strangers. Is nice to see that somebody is ACTUALLY trying to help in some way", he says, "Since the first assault we only got promises from the town militia.... Let me introduce myself. People call me Slim and this one is Bullneck.", he adds pointing at the the huge person to his left. You remember he was also one of the survivors you saw at the center of the crowd, few hours before.
After making the presentations, the workers start to load the corpses of their companions on the carts. They brought blankets and linen to cover the bodies and seem to treat their dead co-workers with much more care than you would have imagined.
At the ranch:
Sgtlee.
The Stablemaster opens his arms in a theatrical gesture. "Wool, what else?", he answers. "All you see around you have only one purpose, my friend. Producing and selling wool. Look around you. The sheeps pasturing in the ranch's fields are counted by the hundreds and see how big is the place and how many people is employed here. You would dare to say that three quarters of Lowmeadow's population works for Goatshearer. And many came from outside to get a job here. The man is famous in the Empire. Goatshearer, I mean".
Krusten.
Time passes while Krusten practices her combat moves, a keen eye still cast around. After some time she sees a small group of people getting outside from the back entrance of the mansion and heading to the servants lodgings: probably the workers finished their shift earlier today to be allowed to take part in the funeral.
Krusten immediately seeks out the servant she met earlier. Funeral or not she insists the woman talks with her privately about the mansion and Abigail in particular to say all that she knows.
Tomas leaves his shield and weapons on the road as he goes to assist the workers.
When it's done he says, "There's nothing to find out here, let us go back. Jon is an expert tracker, with him with us tomorrow we will finish this mission quickly."
He will gather up his belongings and wait for the party to decide to go blindly North or leave early tomorrow.
