In the gathered group Mina responds, "I did not say we should go after the bandits immediately. I was asking if it was a plausible option. I came up with it with possibly having the element of surprise in the fact that no one would believe we would go after them just before dark. We do not even know how far it is to them, but is it worth the try?" At this Mina pauses.
"Also, before I go, if we chose to go, I'd like to try to get a sense of the Goatshearer daughter again, without her getting paranoid about ears listening again."
Krusten can't get any special feeling about the butler's words. The man looks at her, waiting for some question or for her to reveal the real purpose of this secret meeting.
Out of Character: Sense Motive doesn't allow for retries, so you will have to keep the 5.
Krusten continues,
"I have the feeling there is a conspiracy here... Someone in this place involved in the recent events, what do you know?"
Krusten says with her most intimidating demeanor but if she can get nothing else out of him she will let him go and relay all she has done to the rest of the group.
Tomas answers Mina "I believe going after the bandits is a more direct and simple solution. Most likely they will give away the names of their conspirators in the village. I am conflicted about leaving tonight, since rain will wash away the tracks before tomorrow, but using light sources will give a warning to the bandits. If we do leave tonight, we must muster as many fighters as we can gather and finish this in one precise strike."

"A conspiracy?", asks the butler rising again his eyebrow. It looks like it is a habit for him or maybe a way to try to assume an interesting expression. "What brings you to think something like that? This is just a bandit problem. The roads are unsafe of lately. The Earl became weak, he is not able to manage this province anymore. When the Emperor will finally decide to remove him things like this will not happen again. Loya needs a better ruler, somebody that can organize the land and grant justice and safety for us all".
After talking, the butler bows politely and starts to take his leave.
Still feeling there is more to it than just that she leaves and rejoins the group expressing her thoughts and wondering if all of the attacks isn't purposely being set to make their boss look bad. Then again it could be much simpler but Krusten has spent enough time on it and chooses to see what the others have in mind.
Out of Character: Krusten is back with the party. I expect a decision on what to do next in more or less 12 hours. If no decision is made, I'll bring everybody back to the inn.
