Art work by John Weightman. The Manchester ission was formed on the 1st July 1976 by splitting the England Leeds Mission. The above is a map of the England Manchester Mission and its boundaries during my (Elder Borde) mission from October 91' to October 93'.

Mission Manchester England

The 'anthem' of the EMM, at the time I was there, was "Jerusalem". We sang it very often as a mission.

The above hymn was sung with conviction by the whole mission during zone, district and training conferences. It has significant meaning to the great work in the Isles. I recently found a good link into a deeper study of the hymn and into the ideas of: Did Jesus visit Britain? Did his mother Mary die here? "Did Peter, and Paul, Luke, Simon, and other apostles preach here? Was the first Christian Church built here? All these claims and more are contained in ancient documents that most people do not read, or reject as apocryphal. But could they be true?"

Comments: "While serving my mission a true story was told of the some elders leaving a laundry mat while their garments were drying. When they returned someone had hung up their one piece garments all over. The elders reported the incedent to their president who was president Alder. He then went there and coursed the laundry mat and dusted off his feet against it and it later caught fire and burned to the ground."
