Republic Day
Since this is an international forum it is obvious that everyone will celebrate their country's Repubic day(if they are a Republic) on a different day, but you can share with us when it is and what you normally do or intend to do on that day.
For a country to declare itself a 'Republic' is truly a blessing, one that I have recently been able to appreciate more. Trinidad & Tobago celebrates its' Republic tomorrow 24th September. I plan to spend my time studying more of my own country's laws and Constitution to make myself aware of what I have a right to do.
Are there any genuine republics today? Not to my knowledge. Perhaps I won'y go into this here as it's not the theme of the thread.
JB, it's great you're looking into your Constitution - though you have the same rights regardless of Constitutions or governments; perhaps you meant which rights are declared or gauranteed...
In the UK St George's Day is not celebrated much, thoug interesting St patrick's day is. Go figure.
