You can watch the video and judge for yourself. I found his behavior to be unacceptable for a coach and he is very lucky that the players didn't do anything to "Teach" him a lesson.

Rice needs to go, and Pernetti should be right behind him.
The video is shocking and irredeemable. Rice is shown grabbing, shoving and kicking players. He is shown throwing basketballs at them. He directs a multitude of vulgar variations of "You're a sissy" at them.

Newly fired Rutgers University basketball coach Mike Rice tells CNN affiliate WABC that he's sorry for his physical and verbal abuse of players that was shown in a video broadcast Tuesday by ESPN.
"I can't say anything right now except I'm sorry, and there will never be a time where I'm going to use any of that as an excuse or will there be any excuse," Rice told WABC. The university fired Rice today. Ref. CNN
